weekend and week ahead

The weekend went well ! went to see the match in the mill bar with leon, eddie, maz, kay and co. It wasn’t a great match, more nerve racking than anything else! If you’ve been stuck under a rock somewhere – ireland beat england 19-13. Roll on ireland v france.

O made the long trip down from Dublin on friday night and joined us at mikes 29+1day get-together. Saturday morning was Practice time.. Band practice went well considering I was all over the place – hadn’t done as much practice as I should have but hey I will put the practice in this week! We tried out our new in-ear monitor system and it works great! we have to tie down a few things, but we will be fine. roll on friday for the next gig in stAbles.. should be fun. {aside} we must look to get a few more gigs in town soMewhere!

The mythtv pvr took a step in the right dirEction this weekend, after playing with mythtv two weeks ago and not getting very far, I switched to windows to verify the card I got from ebay actually worked – it did – hurrah! so this weekend i went back to knoppmyth and mythtv with my pvr 350 and made a decent attempt this time. I managed to get the card working and capturing! brilLiant

other news: Should be heading home for a day or two this week. Leons power nAps have gone from 40mins to about 4 hours now. getting worried about him – i feel somebody is trying to kill him again – not sure who could be so bold. Football is on tonight – get to run around like a loon!!

last night was great fun! the wireless group went bowling! We now have a King and Queen of bowling. Nev – the fencing dude who should grow a beard – is the King! He consistently bowled down the centre line to knock 7,8+ pins everytime. Maria is the Queen ! She had a brilliant first game, but seemed to be blinded by the rays of victory in the second game.. and didn’t do so well – the gutter seemed to consume most of her shots in the second game. Sean, our fearless leader approached bowling with the idea of belting the ball down the alley and scaring the living daylights out of the poor little defenseless Pins - this proved quite successful! I didn’t do too bad.. hit a few, missed a few.

Dinner afterwards in Luigi Malones was good – I decided to go for Gambas for starters, double stack spare ribs for the main and toberone /butterscotch cheese cake for dessert.. feeling stuffed we headed to Nancys for a quite pint – then headed home. Slept fine until I woke up at 6am – the ribs were making there presence known – nothing major – they just wouldn’t let me sleep.

Other news – Nev did great on the radio this morning – band practice tomorrow – ireland v england – mike M is 29+1day – won 23? in the Lotto!

Signed my soul to ‘its not magic’-telecom, who say they will give free line rental forever ! – this suits me as I feel I am getting ripped-off by phone companies charging for line rental+ call charges and/or {dial up,broadband} + anything else they reckon they can stick on your bill and hope you don’t notice. VoIP here I come.

I am also learning to deal with some monkeys people have passed on to me – the monkeys have been fired back with evil spawn monkeys attached, the kind of ones that burrow, bite, itch and be a real pain in the donkey. I am sure there will be something to report tomorrow after the wireless access research group night out .. bowling followed by eating and drinking in fine establishments. mgb I’m sure will give us something to talk about tomorrow – if he and billy survive the night.
