rang sky .. to enquire about the sky+ box – having finished my pvr, getting it to capture video and audio, pause, rewind and forward.. I have decided it is useless! you see the thing is .. it can do it only on one channel.. booo.. 299 spoondoolies… – I will have a think about it..

L-man and I were chatting last night and commented on the amount of people who blog and how often – some are frequent bloggers.. some no so frequent and some just blog once a month.. and when they do.. its a HUGH blog… We came to the conclusion that blogs shouldn’t take ages to read.. it should be a nice byte size so that its easy to digest.

othernews: I have a blister on my toe. Hag party this weekend, nodes are working, psu should be here, 20 channel mixer should arrive soon.

hey ! I’m back.. well for a while. Its seems everyone had a great weekend.. beer, bbq, chocolate eggs etc. , and all things considered – I had good weekend too! Got an easter egg from Shell – the folks at home munched into it !! had a great easter dinner with the family and met a load of people on sunday night in morriseys, great to meet all the guys and girls from the class of 95! we are having a reunion on the sunday of the may bank holiday – should be fun!

back at home for the past while : 4 calves in the space of 5 days ain’t bad, they are all alive and walking around, which a good start, dad is back .. recovering, o and aido were back as well for the weekend – where myself and aido argued about DSL and stone walls!! O got her new fender and she is smitten with it! The pet lambs all died
The dog ‘monty’ has got a muzzle and its hilarious watching her try to get it off – she is now spending less time destroying trees, bales, sheets etc. etc.

anyway.. enough with the mind dump of random cr&p – back to work.

feeling better again – I managed to react to the pre-ill syndrome* yesterday by heading home early and keeping warm for a while!. Got a hour or two of practice in as well – revelate is a cool song.. can’t get the solo out of my head – it should be played on the fiddle but I nearly have it mastered on the guitar.. the other cool tune I was worked on last night was boulevard of broken dreams.. wow – I look forward to playing the outro on stage soon. After practice I watched ManU crash out of the Champions league to a team that was superior on all accounts. fair play to them.

as I walked home yesterday – I got bit by a mosquito like thing, it must have been confused with the subtle rise in temperature as it reckoned it was time to wake up.. then he met me. the little bugger bit me – and then was promptly dealt a swift blow to his head, back, legs .. he won’t have to worry about waking up for summer any more..

aside – are blogs only useful for telling mundane story telling for such mundane stories as me squishing a bug? can blogs provide something else ? something different, something worthwhile ? can they provide betterment to mankind ? am I over reacting? hmm – dunno.

* The PI syndrome is where you are not quite sick – but feel you are coming down with something, the PI syndrome gives you enough time to do something to prevent yourself becoming ill.

mixers and roads

its another week .. woohoo! last week was a crazy week between going to the arbitration and giging. Lets deal with the arbitration first – it was an eye opener. I have never felt so useless in all my life. mum and dad were upset after the whole affair. I not going to say much on the topic but lets just say you {the legal team} really have to 100% prepared and know your stuff inside out.

re gigging.. wow – what can I say to all the people that turned up. THANK SO MUCH. ye were great to turn up and support. A huge thanks goes out to Shelly for driving around all over the country – I would have missed the gig if it wasn’t for her! The gig itself went well – I think we are getting better.. had a bit of sound problems with low vocals and dodgy di boxes – but hey – we are still learning. The in-ear monitors worked great – they were a big success and reduced any feedback to zero!

othernews – people have deciphered my cryptic and cleverly hidden messages… damn. pvr still has no sound boo! looking at getting a mixer for ssmh, loads to choose from. Book accomodation in mallorca – better start organsing the valencia part of our trip.

mish mash of nothing-age

hmmm – just back from soccer and I have to say it was a good game, spoiled by the fact we were cut short of 45mins by the pesky crew after us. They always walk on the court with 3,4 mins left on our clock. grumble grumble.. Still it was a great game.. very tight, two good teams and evenly matched – thats why its hard to leave the court, you just want to play some more. I am starting to feel the fitness levels rise again – I was feeling kinda sluggish over the past few weeks – not sure why.

anyway. .. Preparing for the gig on Friday is well under way – maz will have posters dropped into the PSA and Stables tomorrow, the mixer desk is booked and is ready to be collected on friday. Leons neon sticks are ready to be attached to the drum kit and I’ve built a psu to drive them, they are gonna be class!! We should be setting up around 6ish for a 9ish start. The crowds on fridays are often hit and miss in the stables, so hopefully there will be people.

other news – pvr is working! hurray.. well… kinda – its capturing nicely now with good old cat /dev/video > test.mpg – but I haven’t try to get myth up and running. The reason being.. I don’t have a usb mouse ! {long story}. Booked flights for Shelly and I in june, we are heading to Dianas wedding in Valencia – should be fun. Going home tomorrow to help out with things on friday morning. mgb has added me to his blog friends - phhewed I feel I’m now part of mgbs circle of trust… – he thinks I should play Iago from Othello – somebody buy those guys a TV for heavens sake!!
