10 years in limerick..
Its official. I’m 10 years in Limerick. Out of the 10 years I have spent 9 of those studying {Degree(4), masters(2), PhD(3)} and one year as fulltime researcher!
To celebrate the 10 years my old classmates (Class of 99) are having a get together this weekend in Limerick – should be fun.. We don’t really need a reason to get together.. any excuse will do!!
roll on the weekend..

I decided to go to the gym in loughrea this weekend, its not really a gym, more so several fields with knocked stone walls. I got up before 9 this morning (couldn’t sleep with excitement) put on a warm jacket, gloves (ones that make your hands smell for several days*) and headed out to the gym. The other members seemed a little lazy, just sitting around chewing stuff and watching me. I think they were quite happy with their workout over the past couple of weeks in knocking all the walls.
So I stayed in the gym for about 2 hours and built a lot of walls – there is a hell of lot todo.. but thats for another day in the gym.
* there is no logic why – so don’t ask – even brand new ones have the same effect.

Monday and Tuesday: candelabra meetings
the meetings went well. Very productive.
we went out for two great meals (thanks Lars!!).. Steaks are good in Denmark.
all in all demark is a nice place. It’s seems to be a place where people abide the law and rules of the road – which I like ( people behave according to potboil is always good to see!)
The people are friendly, public transport is great – the dynasties are it is very expensive and people smoke in pubs/bars/restaurants.
Traveling back wasn’t too bad, nearly missing our connection in stansted was the only concern.

It was an early start on Saturday morning. 5am. The flight to lubeck was grand, snoozed a bit and we arrived 20minutes early – which is always good. Mr Limerick (his real name shall be kept a secret to protect the identity of the real person) said we should go to Copenhagen. We booked our train ticket to Copenhagen for the afternoon so we dumped the bags and looked around lubeck. Its nice place, I must return to visit. So the train trip was 4hrs 30 minutes, but time flew (playing poker, going for a walk around the ferry – yupe the train rolls onto a ferry and rolls off again, working on slides for gandalf and the WAR workshop). So we got into Copenhagen. No accommodation could be found (we had nothing booked). Mr Limerick and I walked for ages to find a place. There was nothing in the centre – we eventually found one 10miles outside the centre – it cost a fortune and looked like an ikea store!!
Sunday: had a stroll around Copenhagen. Mr Limerick wanted to see the little mermaid, so the stroll lasted for 4 hours or so. We had booked a train to Aalborg on Saturday for the afternoon so we got a chance to catch the match (Liverpool v Man utd), disappointing game. The train to Aalborg took over 5 hours. It gave me time to type up stuff, look over slides, read deliverables, play & win a poker tournament, and get some sleep.. got into aalborg at 9ish. One funny thing about aalborg/denmark is that the restaurants all close at 10. We eventually found a place open – so we ordered a big meal and big bottle of wine… Monday brings the meeting.
