guess who
I was listening to Russel Brand’s BBC 2 radio show (god bless podcasts) and he started talking about Guess Who? – the board game. I started thinking to myself .. Who do I know looks like a character from Guess Who? Snap! I know!
I rummaged through my photos and pullled out this one.. can you guess who it is?

Launchy is windows equivalent for a really handy tool I love to use in Ubuntu : gnome-do
The are programs that eliminates the start menu function completely! You start typing the name of the program and hey presto it appears ready to launch!
Launchy & Gnome-Do means no more searching your start menu, it also means you can clean up your desktop once and for all.
Life is so much cleaner with commands
For debian distro users: sudo apt-get install gnome-do

I recently changed phone from my SE k550i. I was really happy with the phone, but the project I’m on dictated I moved to a more super-duper phone (n82)
The only problem I had was getting my contacts/phone book from SE to Nokia. Bluetooth was stupidly slow and only did one number at a time (yes there was an option to send all but it didn’t work!). I saw on the vodaone site a way to back up your contacts. Sounded good so I gave it a try. No bother from the SE to vodafone.. excellent .. half way there! But trying to get them down onto the Nokia.. no chance. I rang customer service (I wouldn’t normally but I was having a bad day) – they said my phone was too new for their site and therefore was supported. Blast!
so i did a little digging and google saved me again! mobical.net basically it will back up and restore all syncML enabled handsets (pretty much all of them!)
in two minutes I had uploaded my contacts from the SE and downloaded them to the nokia. It evens comes with a handy sync package on your phone so that you can back up your contacts anytime. Very hany indeed!

Saturday: Driving along the M1 in hondy, a silly little red grouse decided to walk across the motorway. He must have seen a tasty treat on the other side and decided to go and claim it.
There wasn’t a lot I could do.. traveling at 120kmph doesn’t give much way for breaking hard, swerving to avoid things etc. so I remembered what my Father once said to me regarding animals and driving. “don’t break, keep the car straight and prepare for the thump.”
That’s what I did – “Thump” was followed by a plume of feathers in my rear view mirror.
My passenger was a little distraught.. but what can you do? These things happen all the time. Thankfully – no damage to hondy.
