But the news was actually not released until 2 weeks after the theft. Even though the data wasn't encrypted, it's perfectly safe because the computer had a user name and password. So you can sleep easy. And of course how would any thief know that the data on the laptop was potentially very valuable on the black market. It's just another randomly stolem computer. The only way they could possibly know it was valuable was if it was all over the news..... oh wait.... you don’t need to worry about it anyway.
